Summer Camp for adults with disabilities For 40 years Camp Shalom has provided summer camp experiences for youth and families at it peaceful setting located along the Maquoketa River. A need to serve adults with disabilities with summer camp experiences was identified, and what better place or staff could you find to provide this opportunity for fun and new experiences, than Camp Shalom. These sessions will be 3-day/2-night experiences that will allow campers to experience many of the usual activities of summer camp in a compact timeframe. The first session will be June 4-6; the second will be June 7-9. With guidance from service providers and other organizations dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities, Camp Shalom is prepared to offer an experience that will be the highlight of the camper’s year. Many of the activities will be same activities that our regular summer campers enjoy, only with a different pace.
