Junior High Outpost I – Outpost I
Campers will stay in the Outpost “treehouse” cabins and cook their own breakfast each morning in the pavilion. The Outpost I experience includes Camp Shalom’ s high ropes course and an epic caving adventure in the caverns and mud pits at Maquoketa State Park. Campers will participate in the week-long Outpost Challenge, a fun competition between cabin groups featuring the vaunted Iron Chef Breakfast event. Outpost campers enjoy a higher degree of autonomy and more “hang-out” time than Village campers.

Outpost II campers will still experience some of their Outpost I favorites, including the high ropes course and the Outpost Challenge, but they also travel off-site for a mid-week tent campout full of campfire food, games, and bonding time. Outpost II campers enjoy more independence than the rest of camp and are able to structure their weekly schedule to include as many or as few “traditional” Camp Shalom activities as they like.

Summer Camp for adults with disabilities For 40 years Camp Shalom has provided summer camp experiences for youth and families at it peaceful setting located along the Maquoketa River. Family Camp is where parents get in on the fun! Led by the Camp Shalom summer staffers, families are get to play family games, do archery, go canoeing, caving, and take on the High Ropes course. Find out more »Villagers – Villagers Summer Camp
Villagers’ is a week-long program for campers who are ready for the full Camp Shalom experience! Campers stay in the village cabins with their counselors and have the opportunity to build their own cabin schedules, experiencing many traditional camp activities such as canoeing, archery, crafts, Bible study, worship, and field games. Villagers swim every day at the YMCA in Maquoketa and also travel off-site for an afternoon adventure and a picnic lunch at Little Bear Park.

Mini Camp is a half-week program for our most energetic campers! Mini-campers will live in the two largest Village cabins with their counselors, and operate on their own schedule participating in water games, nature activities, Bible study, and more! Additionally, mini-campers will have their own high-energy worships in the morning and evening, and they will travel to Little Bear Park in Maquoketa for a picnic lunch and playground exploration. Each session will culminate with a campfire and delicious s’mores.

Explorers is a half-week program (3 days, 2 nights) for campers who want to get a taste of camp but may not be ready for a whole week away from home. They will stay in Village cabins with their counselors and will experience much of the same excitement as Villagers, participating in all-camp games, archery, low ropes, worship, and more!

dil-i-gent, ADHD Camp – dil-i-gent, ADHD Camp
Today a significant number of youth are being diagnosed with ADHD. Parent and schools struggle to provide activities in which these young people can be successful due to the lack of time and resources.
