Day Camp – Session 1
Kennolyn has been family owned and operated since 1946 on 300 acres of redwoods overlooking Monterey Bay. Like all Kennolyn Camps, Day Camp is a traditional, structured camp program designed to foster emotional, social, and physical growth in each camper. The program, for grades K-9, offers over 40 hours a week of fun-filled camp with a variety of group activities and exciting electives. Kennolyn's resident camp is located at the Stone Creek Village and hosts approx 220 campers and 100 staff. We have 1 and 2 week sessions. On Opening Day our campers are put into their cabins and meet their counselor and 6 new cabin mates. The bonds which tie a cabin together are quickly formed and so we allow our campers to choose their activity schedules with their new friends before dinner. A typical activity day is from 8:45am - 4:50pm…

Trapeze is the number 1 Specialty option at camp. This activity is all about flying through the air with poise and grace. Campers learn how to swing, reach, catch and flip under the expert instruction of our friends from Circus Arts Inc. who come to Kennolyn each summer to share their passion with our campers. This class fills FAST!

Equestrian Camp is part of the resident camp and our 2-week equestrian campers spend all of their activity days at the barn with the horse they have been assigned for that session. Camper will be given professional instruction by our riding staff. Other Equestrian related activities include vaulting, trail rides, an overnight ride to our creek campsite, the opportunity to see a horse show and the proper care and maintenance required to look after a horse. Surfing Specialty is an option for our campers going into 7th grade and above. Surfers will be shuttled to the beach early in the morning to meet with our long time camp friends and surf instructors (Club Ed) where they will be fitted for a suit and board before hitting the best surf in California for beginners-intermediate.

Adventure Campers are very much a part of our Resident Camp activities like Campfire, Boardwalk, Beach Day and Outpost however they also enjoy a high octane lifestyle with activities like Surfing, Mountain Biking, High Adventure Ropes, Trapeze, Kayaking and a 3 day camping trip which includes some White Water Rafting!!!
