Camp Pine Cone is a day camp for children with physical and/or developmental disabilities, ages 5 to 12. The day camp takes place at Pine Tree Camp’s beautiful 280-acre barrier free facility on North Pond in Rome. Camp Pine Cone is designed for children with disabilities who could benefit from a summer camp experience, but are not yet ready for overnight camp or who have special needs that make attending an overnight camp a challenge. Camp Pine Cone’s counselor to camper ratio is much lower than traditional day camps, a minimum of one staff to three campers. Children who require one-on-one support, may attend with a parent or caregiver. Each staff member will participate in a week-long training prior to Camp Pine Cone. Our staff are special people who are committed to providing individualized support to each camper so that he/she fully participates in every activity.
